BPPV, Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, is the most common cause of dizziness related to the inner ear. Typically, it is triggered suddenly by certain head movements or positions, and results in an abnormal sensation of spinning, nausea or vomiting. The condition results from a mechanical problem within the inner ear/vestibular system. Small crystals of calcium carbonate (otoconia = “ear rocks”), a necessary part of our equilibrium sense, become detached and move freely in the semicircular canals, sending false signals to the brain about spatial movement. While it is most common following a trauma to the head, it can also follow an upper respiratory infection, or occur ideopathically with no known cause. For the person with BPPV, episodes of spinning vertigo, dizziness, lightheadedness, imbalance and nausea can be life-altering and disabling. Now there is a solution!

- For Cervical VertigoPatients
Cerviocogenic dizziness is a diagnosis often given to patients that have experienced a neck injury or pain as well as dizziness and where other causes of the dizziness or vertigo have been ruled out.

- For Neuritis & Labyrinthitis Patients
Neuritis and Labyrinthitis are vestibular disorders resulting from an infection that inflames the inner ear and/or nerves connecting the inner ear to the brain. Dizziness, vertigo, imbalance and problems with vision or hearing may result.
Infections of the inner ear are usually viral but can be bacterial. These inner ear infections are not the same as middle ear infections which are a bacterial type common in childhood.

- For Meniers's Disease Patients
Meniere’s Disease is a chronic, incurable vestibular (inner ear) disorder producing a recurring set of symptoms as a result of an abnormal amount of fluid called endolymph collecting in the inner ear. Traditional triggers to an attack include: stress, overwork, fatigue, emotional distress, additional illnesses, pressure changes, certain foods and too much salt in the diet. Symptoms may vary before, during, between and after attacks.
